Dato’ Sri Mustapha Mohamed’s Visit to Manilla, Philippines, 1 – 6 Sept

Mustapa Mohamed, a former minister in the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office, met with ASEAN-BAC Philippines Council Members during his visit to Manila. Mr Mustapa was accompanied by Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino at the meeting hosted by ASEAN-BAC Philippines Chairman Jose Concepcion III.

The meeting was held following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between ASEAN-BAC Malaysia and ASEAN-BAC Philippines witnessed by Philippines President Marcos Jr. during his official visit to Malaysia.

The MoU seeks to develop trade and investment opportunities in various agricultural products and services such as palm oil, rubber, fruits, poultry, and agri-tech between Malaysia and the Philippines. It also seeks to explore the feasibility of collaborative studies and mentorship programmes for potential agriculture technology, food security, agripartnership business models, and value chain development.
