1st Digital Trade Connect Working Group Meeting
ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle members in the logistics and cross-border trade sector gathered to discuss ways to accelerate cross-border sea-, land- and air freight beyond the existing ASEAN Single Window in the run-up to Malaysia’s chairmanship year 2025. This meeting highlighted the various bottlenecks that need to be addressed and the importance of cross-border cooperation towards creating an integrated ASEAN.
Chaired by Dato’ Fadzli Shah (MY E.G. Services Berhad (MYEG)), the meeting convened representatives from Dagang NeXchange Berhad (DNeX), GDEX Berhad, Teleport, Zetrix, National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia and University of Malaya to explore pathways in advancing regional digital trade connectivity, including the possibility of piloting platforms that would integrate Malaysia’s trade ecosystem with other ASEAN member states. Executive Director Jukhee Hong informed the meeting of various ongoing discussions shaping ASEAN-BAC Malaysia’s priorities and deliverables in 2025 and the considerations needed in its advocacy efforts.
