Meeting with Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), 9 May 2024

Tan Sri Nazir Razak, Chairman of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia, along with Executive Director, Jukhee Hong engaged in a fruitful discussion with Prof. Tetsuya Watanabe, President of the ERIA: Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia, Prof. Dr. Sufian Jusoh, Principal Fellow of the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS) of National University of Malaysia (UKM), and Dr. Intan Murnira Ramli, ERIA’s Senior Policy Fellow.

The constructive engagement between ERIA, IKMAS and ASEAN-BAC Malaysia underscored the importance of addressing the interconnected efforts in driving Malaysia’s Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) and ASEAN-BAC Malaysia’s Legacy Projects for ASEAN 2025. These efforts aim for business-centric promotion of economic integration, improving digital trade connectivity, facilitating talent mobility and promoting sustainability among other initiatives, with an overarching goal to strengthen greater intra-ASEAN investment with the private sector.
