Networking Luncheon with the Swiss Malaysian Chamber of Commerce
The journey for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) across borders, especially within ASEAN, highlights several key areas for growth and improvement. MSMEs aspire to expand beyond borders, but face challenges due to mismatched expectations, limited financial literacy, trade barriers and lack of incentives.
ASEAN-BAC Malaysia was delighted to have been invited to a networking luncheon with the Swiss Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (SMCC) Board Members. Jukhee Hong, Executive Director of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia and Ralph Stamm, Chargé d’Affaires a.i of the Embassy of Switzerland in Malaysia, discussed the priorities leading up to Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025 and explored the collaboration opportunities with the Swiss private sector in ASEAN.
Trade volume and direct investment between Switzerland and ASEAN countries have multiplied in recent decades. Switzerland became the Sectoral Dialogue Partner of ASEAN in 2016 and practical cooperation areas of mutual interest and expertise have been outlined from 2022 to 2026.
ASEAN-BAC Malaysia looks forward to strengthening our collaboration with Switzerland for a prosperous ASEAN region.
