4th ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle (ABMC) Meeting (02/2024), 24 June 2024

The Fourth ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle (ABMC) Quarterly Meeting, chaired by Tan Sri Nazir Razak took place on 24 June 2024 and was graciously hosted by CIMB Group. This pivotal gathering brought together key representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), ABMC Members, and Knowledge Partners.

Tan Sri Nazir Razak emphasised the transformative potential of the upcoming year 2025 in steering the future of ASEAN. He reaffirmed ASEAN-BAC Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to advancing regional integration under the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Post-2025 in creating a nurturing environment for economic growth.

The meeting was alive with discussions on the progress of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia’s potential legacy projects and initiatives spearheaded in close collaboration between the executive team of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia, led by Jukhee Hong, with the ABMC Members and Knowledge Partners. The projects are hoped to be the cornerstone of Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025. 

Members were also briefed on the events slated for 2024, all leading up to the significant milestones of 2025. With Malaysia at the helm next year, there is a renewed aspiration on driving digital transformation, enhancing economic resilience, and promoting sustainable development for the ASEAN region!
