ASEAN Unplugged 6: An Evening with Pak Gita Wirja

Sponsored by Sime Darby Property, the 6th ASEAN Unplugged took place with a special guest speaker, Bapak Gita Wirjawan, Indonesia’s former Minister of Trade. He provided an in-depth analysis of the Indonesian political landscape as President Elect Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo prepares to take office later this year. The discussion, moderated by Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak, was attended by members of the ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle (ABMC).

Bapak Gita provided a nuanced analysis of Indonesia’s political dynamics post President Joko Widodo’s era and how the new leadership will shape the policies and economic trajectory of the largest economy in ASEAN. He is optimistic that the President Elect’s close ties with Malaysia will further boost bilateral ties between the two countries.
