Unlocking Trade & Investment in ASEAN: Economic Priorities Under Malaysia’s 2025 Chairmanship

The Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) hosted a webinar titled “Unlocking Trade & Investment in ASEAN: Economic Priorities Under Malaysia’s 2025 Chairmanship.” ASEAN-BAC Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak shared with participants the council’s 2025 legacy projects. Prior to that, H.E. Sarah Al Bakri Devadason, Malaysia’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN, and H.E. Vicky Singmin, Canada’s Ambassador to ASEAN, also addressed participants.
Amongst other things, Chairman Razak highlighted the ASEAN Business Entity (ABE) framework—a flagship initiative designed to help regional businesses scale operations across ASEAN’s 680 million consumer market. He also spoke in great detail of the meaningful collaboration opportunities between ASEAN and Canada. The dialogue reinforced the mutual benefits of aligning CABC with Malaysia’s Chairmanship vision, for a more integrated and prosperous regional market that better serves its member nations.
