ASEAN Investment Conference

Chairman of ASEAN-BAC, Tan Sri Nazir Razak, delivered the keynote address at the ASEAN Investment Conference (AIC) 2025, held on the sidelines of the 12th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting (AFMGM) in Kuala Lumpur.
In Tan Sri Nazir Razak’s speech, he outlined ASEAN-BAC’s focus on practical solutions including enabling greater operational ease for regional businesses under the ASEAN Business Entity (ABE) proposal and widening access to capital through the ASEAN IPO Prospectus. His key takeaway – real progress will not come from grand plans, but from meaningful execution that addresses what businesses truly need.
Earlier, YAB Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the conference, describing ASEAN as a “beacon of hope and positivity” amid ongoing global economic uncertainty. He called for deeper intra-ASEAN trade, greater investment in climate-resilient infrastructure, and more inclusive digital transformation – including the launch of the ASEAN Simplified ESG Disclosure Guide (SEDG) for SMEs.
ASEAN-BAC looks forward to a year of strong and sustainable investment growth under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship.
We were also proud to see members of the ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle represented at the conference: AirAsia, AmBank, Axiata, CIMB, HSBC, MyEG, SD Guthrie, and Yinson Holdings Berhad.
