30% Club Malaysia 10th Anniversary Celebration

ASEAN-BAC Chairman, Tan Sri Nazir Razak, was invited to speak at the 30% Club Malaysia’s 10th Anniversary Celebration.
He joined an esteemed panel featuring Anne Abraham, Co-Founder of the 30% Club Malaysia and Founder & Chairperson of LeadWomen; Chen Li-Kai, Independent Non-Executive Director at the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) and former Managing Partner at McKinsey; and Sujatha Sekhar Naik, Chair of the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG) and Partner at Aqran Vijandran. The session, titled “Rewriting the Rules – A Decade of Advocacy: Is 30% Still the Goal?”, was moderated by Khairy Jamaluddin, Former Minister of Health Malaysia and Co-Host of the current affairs podcast Keluar Sekejap.
During the discussion, Tan Sri Nazir emphasised that diversity is a powerful driver of progress. He noted that while targets such as 30% representation are useful, the end goal must always be a meritocratic system where leadership roles are earned through capability and contribution, regardless of gender.
In a strong show of commitment to gender parity, Tan Sri Nazir also signed the Men Allies for Parity pledge, reaffirming his support for advancing women in leadership.
