Launch of AI Malaysia (AIM)

ASEAN-BAC Malaysia, in partnership with one of our initiatives under the Regional AI Engagement Platform, officially launched AI Malaysia (AIM) today—a platform designed to connect businesses with AI advancements in Malaysia and beyond. The launch, held at the AICB Centre of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur, brought together leaders from government, industry, and academia under the theme ‘AI Conversations 2025’ to explore how AI can position Malaysia as a leading digital economy in the region.
The event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Malaysia’s Minister of Digital, who emphasized the importance of collaboration in AI adoption to drive inclusive growth and regional leadership. Tan Sri Nazir Razak, ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Chairman, highlighted AIM’s role in advancing responsible AI adoption and fostering innovation-led growth across ASEAN.
A special guest, Professor Richard Sutton, 2024 Turing Award Winner (often referred to as the Nobel Prize of Computing) and Founder of Openmind Research Institute, also spoke at the event, adding valuable insights to the discussions.
