Roadshow to New Zealand Day 1
Our delegation had a highly productive day in Auckland, beginning with a meeting and briefing hosted by the New Zealand APEC Business Advisory Council Secretariat together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). The session brought together APEC stakeholders, members of the ASEAN–New Zealand Business Council, and senior officials from MFAT’s Asia Regional and Trade Policy Divisions, providing a valuable platform for exchange on regional priorities and shared opportunities.
The discussions continued at the NZ–ASEAN Forum, where:
- ASEAN-BAC Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak delivered a keynote address and participated in panel discussions alongside regional leaders.
- Hon. Todd McClay, New Zealand’s Minister for Trade and Investment, joined Tan Sri Nazir Razak in a keynote dialogue, reinforcing the importance of closer ASEAN–NZ economic cooperation.
- As part of the event, a certificate of acknowledgement was presented to Liz Bell, Executive Director of ASEAN New Zealand Combined Business Council (AANZBC) by Jukhee Hong, Chair of The ASEAN Inclusivity Collective, recognising them as a Supporting Partner of the ASEAN Inclusivity Collective (AIC) in advancing inclusive and sustainable growth across the region.
The day concluded with a private dinner hosted by Mark Piper, CEO of the Bioeconomy Science Institute, bringing together selected business leaders and senior officials for deeper dialogue on advancing partnerships in trade, investment, and innovation.
