StanChart GreenShift Forum

Jointly organised with Standard Chartered, The Green Shift Forum 2025 brought together business leaders, policymakers and sustainability experts to discuss actionable pathways for a greener ASEAN.

The Forum highlighted ASEAN-BAC’s flagship initiatives, including the ASEAN Common Carbon Market, designed to build an interoperable regional carbon ecosystem. The initiative, chaired by fellow Council Member Lim Chern Yuan, established the Malaysia Carbon Market Association (MCMA) in 2024, signed a partnership at COP29 with carbon market associations from Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand as a collaborative start that aims to develop an ASEAN Common Carbon Framework.

During his opening remarks, Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak also called for a simplified sustainability reporting to make it more accessible for MSMEs, in line with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability.” He also emphasised the importance of collaborative regional initiatives to drive sustainable economic growth.
