Building An ASEAN Open For Business And Collaboration

ASEAN must now evolve “from resilience to relevance” by embracing inclusivity, sustainability, and regional collaboration, said Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz in his opening remarks at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2025, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) today.

The summit, hosted by ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Malaysia, gathered the region’s leading policymakers, business figures, and investors to discuss strategies for deepening economic cooperation and driving long-term growth amid a shifting global landscape.

“The global economic terrain is in flux—shaped by shifting supply chains, recalibrated trade alliances, and the relentless momentum of digital transformation. Yet amid this uncertainty, ASEAN stands not on the sidelines, but at the forefront: a beacon of resilience, stability, and shared opportunity,” Zafrul said.
