PM pushes for Asean solidarity in challenging times
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for Asean member states to stay united in its partnership as global challenges continue to grow.
In his keynote address at the 2025 Asean Business and Investment Summit read by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Anwar said Asean needs to deepen integration, advance innovation and uphold open and rules-based trade amid these challenges.
“To our business leaders gathered here tonight, my message is clear. Asean is open. We are open for investment, open for collaboration, and open for innovation,” he said.
He added that Malaysia’s chairmanship seeks to strengthen Asean’s role as an integrated and forward-looking region that embraces collaboration and shared progress.
