Lula: Brazil eyes potential biofuel production collaboration with Asean
KUALA LUMPUR: Brazil is eyeing a potential collaboration with Asean to boost biofuel production, aiming to reduce reliance on other energy-producing countries and accelerate decarbonisation efforts.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said biofuels represent a cost-effective and rapidly deployable solution for decarbonising a wide range of sectors from light vehicles to aviation and maritime transport.
He said it has the potential to reduce emissions, making it a key component of the global clean energy transition.
