ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Briefing with the business chambers and associations in Malaysia, hosted by FMM

As the Chairmanship year unfolds, we conducted a briefing session today for the chambers of commerce and business associations in Malaysia, hosted by the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM).

Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak provided insights into the 12 initiatives and priorities for ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Chairmanship year. Among others, the ASEAN Business Entity (ABE) Initiative advocates for the need for ASEAN member states to help ease cross-border business operations such as the movement of talent, capital, and backend outsourcing for ASEAN businesses.

The engagement saw participation from SME industry leaders from diverse sectors across Malaysia, including automotive, food processing, aluminum, plastics, rubber gloves, textiles, iron and steel, chemicals, freight forwarding, cosmetics and toiletries, construction and food and beverage, to professional services.
