ASEAN Common Carbon Framework Workshop

With the ACCF as one of the 12 priorities of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia in 2025, we are proud to support the ACCF Workshop yesterday, convened by MCMA and supported by the UK-GTF. The ACCF represents a vision/goal/aspiration (it has yet to be achieved) for ASEAN a carbon market across the region—unlocking cross-border opportunities whilst accelerating our collective journey towards carbon neutrality.
The event marked concrete steps in identifying various gaps in carbon market infrastructure, supply and demand of carbon credits and policy advocacy needed to realise the ACCF, uniting stakeholders to finalise the ACCF governance framework and craft a comprehensive two-year roadmap. Our Executive Director, Jukhee Hong, delivered the closing remarks at this watershed gathering.
This workshop featured speeches from distinguished speakers including:
YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES)
•Mr David Wallace, Acting High Commissioner at the British High Commission of Kuala Lumpur @ukinmalaysia
•Her Excellency Sarah Tiffin,UK Ambassador to ASEAN
•Lim Chern Yuan, ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Council Member and CEO Yinson Holdings Berhad
•Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary General for ASEAN Economic Community
•Dr Renard Siew, President of MCMA and Group Head of Corporate Sustainability at Yinson
We’re eager to see the framework implemented and allow businesses to achieve the climate commitments through a common carbon market.
