Roadshow to Japan Day 3

On the third day of our ASEAN-BAC chairmanship roadshow in Japan, Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak and Executive Director Jukhee Hong continued their journey in Tokyo with a series of high-level meetings.
The day began with an insightful discussion with Prof. Yutaka Matsuo at the University of Tokyo, focusing on innovation and the future of technology. This was followed by a meeting with Mr. Norihiko Ishiguro, Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), where they discussed various ongoing collaborations planned for the rest of the year.
They continued with a meeting with Mr. Hara Noriyuki, Director of Keidanren, to discuss economic trends and business cooperation. The team also participated in an interview with Nikkei Asia, sharing perspectives on ASEAN’s evolving role in the region.
Further engagements included a meeting with Mr. Hitoshi Ito, President of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), and discussions with representatives from Keizai Doyukai, focusing on strengthening business networks and partnerships.
The day concluded with a meeting with Mr. Yasuji Komiyama, Director-General for Trade Policy and Economic Cooperation at METI, where they exchanged views on trade policy and regional economic cooperation.
These meetings provided valuable opportunities to foster deeper ties, promote innovation, and advance economic collaboration between ASEAN and Japan
