Roadshow to Russia (Day 1 and 2)

The ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Chairmanship continued with a Roadshow to Russia led by Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak, and Executive Director Jukhee Hong, in conjunction with the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025. SPIEF was also attended by fellow ASEAN-BAC Chairmen from Brunei, Mr Musa Adnin; Myanmar, Mr U Aye Win; and Indonesia, Mr Anindya Bakrie.

The roadshow started with a warm reception from the Russia-ASEAN Business Council (RABC) at a welcome dinner, before continuing in the EAEU-ASEAN Business Dialogue, where Tan Sri Nazir introduced Malaysia’s 12 ASEAN-BAC Malaysia initiatives. Particularly ASEAN Business Entity (ABE), and the B2B Connect initiative. He also encouraged Russia’s participation in ABIS 2025.

Tan Sri Nazir also took part in a feature interview with the TVBRICS international media network, where he highlighted Malaysia’s focus on advancing regional integration and digital trade through targeted initiatives under its five-year plan, while also emphasising the importance of strengthening Malaysia-Russia business ties and increasing bilateral trade and investment. The program also included a series of strategic meetings with key Russian stakeholders, such as the Minister for International Cooperation of the Moscow Government, the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia (Head of SEOM Russia-ASEAN). These engagements opened new avenues for partnership and reinforced the commitment to deepening ASEAN-Russia economic ties.
