2nd ABMC Quarterly Meeting

ASEAN-BAC Malaysia held its second ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle (ABMC) Quarterly Meeting of the year, chaired by Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak and with remarks presented by Dato’ Zanariah Binti Zainal Abidin, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), as well as in attendance, Dr. Rashidi Said, Director of the ASEAN Economic Integration Division of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI). Council members Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and Mr Lee Chern Yuan also attended the meeting.

Hosted by CIMB, the meeting was attended by the ABMC members namely AERODYNE GROUP, AirAsia, Axiata, CARSOME, CIMB, Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”), GDEX Berhad, Genting Malaysia Berhad, Gentari, Ikhlas Capital, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, MY E.G. Services Berhad (MYEG), Maybank, RHL Ventures, Sime Darby Plantation , Taylor’s Education Group, Yinson, TIME dotCom Berhad, PETRONAS, and YTL Power International, and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM).

The meeting covered updates on ABMC event progress throughout the year, ongoing priorities and Working Groups establishments to champion, and the formation of structures for the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) and ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) during the Malaysian Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025.

The meeting also featured guest speakers from the ASEAN Secretariat Ms Nurul Imlati, Senior Officer for Trade in Services; Mr Adamant Aldo Ruddyardt, Officer for Investment; and Mr Dicky Wallad, Senior Officer for Connectivity, together with Prof. Dr. Sufian Jusoh, Director and Professor of International Trade & Investment, Institut Kajian Malaysia & Antarabangsa (IKMAS), UKM.
