97th ASEAN-BAC Council Meeting, 12 June

ASEAN-BAC Malaysia attended the 97th ASEAN-BAC Council Meeting, represented by Council Members Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and Mr Lim Chern Yuan, as well as Executive Director Ms Jukhee Hong. The meeting was chaired by ASEAN-BAC 2023 Chair Bapak Arsjad Rasjid, and attended by other ASEAN-BAC council members, working group policy managers, and staffers.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes presented the ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle (ABMC), a platform for regional Malaysian companies to actively support ASEAN integration and support the country’s preparations for its ASEAN chairmanship in 2025. ABMC members are a circle of businesses which provide advice and suggestions on regional issues and concerns through engagements with ASEAN leaders, economic ministers, regulators, government agencies and other business groups.

ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Executive Director Ms Jukhee Hong, who also represents the PMO of the ASEAN Business Network (ABN), presented the ASEAN-BAC Forward: Funding & Institutional Reform Masterplan (AFFIRM) 2.0 which aims to strengthen the ASEAN-BAC Secretariat’s resource mobilisation.
