ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Engagement with The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), 20 April
ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak had a meeting with the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), hosted by its President Senator Tan Sri Dato’ Low Kian Chuan, to discuss various issues related to business and policy challenges within ASEAN.
Tan Sri Nazir expressed his interest in understanding how ASEAN-BAC Malaysia could support ACCCIM members to look beyond Malaysia and to ASEAN as their home market, especially in light of Malaysia’s upcoming ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.
Tan Sri Nazir also emphasised the importance of promoting regional integration and economic growth, while the ACCCIM shared various policy challenges and recommendations that could be brought to the attention of ASEAN leaders.
The meeting was also attended by ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Executive Director Ms Jukhee Hong, ACCCIM’s Deputy President Datuk Ng Yih Pyng, Secretary General Dato’ Tan Tian Meng, Deputy Secretary General I Mr Michael Chai Woon Chew, Chief Executive Officer Madam Christine Poo, Director of Operations Mr Lee Cheng Siang, Socio-Economic Research Centre (SERC) Executive Director Mr Lee Heng Guie, and Malaysian Wood Industries Association (MWIA) Executive Officer Ms Pang Suet Kum.
