Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) Business Roundtable

ASEAN-BAC Malaysia’s Chairman Tan Sri Nazir Razak, fellow Council Member Mr CY Lim, and Executive Director Ms Jukhee Hong, alongside the ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Circle (ABMC) members, were invited to the Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) Business Roundtable. The roundtable was chaired by Mr. Wayne Farmer from CABC, attended by the CABC members in conjunction with The Honourable May Ng, International Trade Minister’s visit to Malaysia.
The discussion touched on the importance of strengthening private sector ties between Canada and Malaysia, with a focus on sectors such as semiconductors, infrastructure, energy, and agribusiness. Tan Sri Nazir Razak highlighted ASEAN-BAC Malaysia’s priorities and the planning for Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025.
The roundtable concluded with interests from both sides to explore future collaboration between Canada and Malaysia, particularly in promoting technology transfer, establishing joint ventures, and fostering effective integration to address global challenges such as climate change.
