ASEAN INCLUSIVITY COLLECTIVE

A message to businesses across ASEAN

ASEAN is a region known for its vibrant demographics and diverse cultures. ASEAN’s political resolve to be inclusive of all member states’ uniqueness is a cornerstone of ASEAN’s peace and stability. Today, the need for diversity and inclusivity has an even more tangible relevance to businesses, as sustainability reporting warrants timely responses from businesses.

The goal of creating fair and inclusive environments where all stakeholders feel valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully, regardless of background or identity, is increasingly gaining adoption. More importantly, the need to include inclusive practices in business is no longer an option but a compulsory element of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting requirements.
In addition to that, the AIC is a business response to the aspirations of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) vision that upholds the spirit of inclusivity for women, anti-discrimination, and the prevention of harassment. It aims to foster a sustainable and equitable community where all individuals, regardless of gender, background, or identity, are empowered to contribute meaningfully. Aligned with the ASCC Blueprint 2025, this initiative supports the promotion of human rights, social protection, and equitable access to opportunities, ensuring that businesses actively participate in shaping an ASEAN that is inclusive, resilient, and sustainable.
In conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025, ASEAN-BAC Malaysia is delighted to partner with LeadWomen to launch the ASEAN Inclusivity Collective to share best practices, inspire innovation, and collectively address challenges to inclusivity – with a vision to invite businesses across ASEAN to strive towards an ASEAN Inclusivity Pledge over time. This initiative is well aligned with the MADANI Vision of Malaysian Prime Minister The Honorable Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, centring on promoting progressive economic development, social justice and harmony.
Join us as we embark on the journey to promote inclusive practices to spur social and economic progress in our communities across ASEAN.
