[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”text-aaa”]The journey for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) across borders, especially within ASEAN, highlights several key areas for growth and improvement. MSMEs aspire to expand beyond borders, but face challenges due to mismatched expectations, limited financial literacy, trade barriers and lack of incentives.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][tm_spacer size=”xs:15;lg:20″][vc_column_text el_class=”text-aaa”]At the sidelines of the 21st AANZFTA\u2019s FTA Joint Committee (FJC) event in Auckland, <\/span>Jukhee Hong<\/span><\/a>, Executive Director of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia spoke at the ASEAN-CER Integration Partnership Forum on the imperative to <\/span>simplify, standardise, and harmonise cross-border regulations and procedures <\/b>to foster <\/span>the internationalisation of MSMEs.<\/b><\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][tm_spacer size=”xs:15;lg:20″][vc_column_text el_class=”text-aaa”]Fragmented policies among ASEAN member states<\/b> could hinder policy outcomes, necessitating <\/span>cross-border alignment <\/b>between ministries, agencies, and regulators in easing the movements of goods, services, investment, capital and talent, thereby <\/span>narrowing the development gap and achieving a single integrated market in ASEAN.<\/b><\/p>\n
